Web Site Design

The Snider's Web builds clean, professional, high quality web sites. We feel that the site should reflect you or your business/organization. We build any size of site, from 1 page to 100+ page web sites. You can add as many 'bells and whistles' as you like. Some of the most popular 'bells and whistles' are slide shows and pop up windows for an image or text. Each web design project (no matter how many pages are involved) includes the following at no extra charge:

• graphics created in-house for backgrounds, icons, buttons and titles (unless an outside graphic designer is brought in-then extra charges may apply)
• includes unlimited links to e-mail addresses and to other web sites
• counter installation (server or commercial counter with instructions)
• upload pages to server when project complete
• extensive checks for load time & computer compatibility
• all code 'tags' necessary for search engines/directories
• guidance on how to optimize the main page text for the search engines
• the manual submission of the site to 15 major search engines/directories*

*Please note: We can not guarantee your site's placement or rank on the search engines/directories.

When we develop a web site, we ask that the client submit all the text, pictures and logo by disk or e-mail. If not, hourly fees will be charged. Other fees will be charged if logo creation or copywriting is required.

Web Site Maintenance

Keeping your site up to date is very important. Clients expect the most up to date information to be on your web site. Not only that, the best way to keep people coming back to your site time after time is to update it frequently. If you want to add, delete, update or change information The Snider's Web can help.

We provide web site maintenance on an 'as needed' or contract basis. We can do a lot of changes in an hour, especially to text. Graphics and changes to the layout or design tend to take a bit longer. We also upload any changes to the server for you and do extensive testing of the page(s) at no extra charge. For more details, please contact us.

Domain Booking and Renewal

You want to get your web site up on the Internet, but you just don't have the time or inclination to call around and find out about the options available to you. You need a web address-which do you choose .com, .net, .org, .ca? Which server will give you the features that you need most? The Snider's Web can give you the options and do the legwork for you-we can set up your domain and your server quickly and easily, saving you time, money and endless phone calls.

New Domain Booking

Our 'Get On The Net' Package includes:

• advice on the domain options available to you
• checking on the availability of the domain name chosen
• the registration of your domain name (domain fees are the responsibility of the client)
• analysis of your server options
• setting your site up on the appropriate server (server fees are the responsibility of the client)
• setting up your e-mail addresses on the server

If you would like us to arrange to set up your Internet browser and e-mail program with the new Internet connection, an additional fee will apply. Payment is due upon registration and/or completion of set up. Please contact us for details.

Domain Renewal

Our 'Get Renewed On The Net' Package includes:

• renewal of domain for 1 year (or more as specified) with Registrar used before or a new Registrar
• Change contact information as necessary

Search Engine Submission and Optimization

What good is a web site if no one comes to look at it? Even worse, what good is a web site if it can't be found on the search engines by people interested in your product or service? If your site is not attracting the hits or clients you thought it should be getting (in a realistic sense), or if you, or your clients, have tried to find your site on search engines and couldn't, then this package may interest you.

The 'Get Noticed On The Net' package includes:

• a detailed site evaluation and analysis
• changes to your site's code to help ensure that it is full utilized for the search engines
• the review or creation of meta tags in your site's code. These tags are used by some search engines to categorize your site in their database
• installation of a counter on your home page
• uploading the changes to your server
• tips on how to market your site, both online and offline
• the manual submission of your home page to 15 of the top search engines and directories (this includes Canadian and industry specific engines and directories)

A Note on Search Engine Submission: We do not use software programs or commercial services to submit your page, as many search engines/directories will not accept such postings or the submissions may take months to get to the engines. By submitting your site to each search engine/directory by hand, we ensure that this posting is done in a timely manner and we can verify that it was accepted to be considered by the search engine/directory.*

Internet Counselling/Training

First of all, to dispel any myths about our counselling, you do not have to lie down on a couch to talk to us! We will even talk to you standing up! But seriously...Internet counselling encompasses seminars, workshops, group and one-on-one training on Internet topics.

Whether you have never used the Internet or you are an expert, we provide counselling to meet your needs at the appropriate skill level. We can counsel from 1 person to a group of 200 in your home, office or work space.

We have trained clients on a wide variety of topics, the most popular of which are: how to use the internet and e-mail, how to effectively search the internet and how to maintain your own web site (basic text changes). If you would like more information, please contact us.

Have you ever been searching for information on a topic and ended up with 10, 000 web pages to look through? Then once you go through them, you find out that most of them have nothing to do with what you were looking for? Oh and did I mention that you needed the information yesterday?

Searching on the Internet can be a frustrating, time consuming experience-and it only seems to be getting worse. With almost a billion web pages on the Internet, how do you find only the web sites you need?

We have the answer! The Snider's Web has been navigating the web since 1993-we know how to find things quickly and easily. Let us save you time, money and end the frustration!

We can search for a single topic in a 'one time only' search or we can provide a 'weekly or monthly' search for a topic or project. The results can be reported in a formal written report, in a list of URLs or be made into a convenient web document that you can display in your web browser. We can deliver the results to you by whichever method is most convenient- by e-mail, fax, snail mail or in person.

Domain/Web Site Hosting

The Snider's Web now offers domain hosting to clients, using the servers of Pair Networks in the US. Please contact us for details on our domain hosting package.

We also offer 'shared' web site hosting to clients who do not have Internet access or to those that need a temporary space on the Internet for a limited term project. In this case the web site address would be http://www.thesnidersweb.com/name.

The Snider's Web offers clients up to 5 mg of space in monthly packages. We offer a 1 month, 3 month, 6 month or 12 month contract.

Please note: Due to security reasons, maintenance on these 'shared' hosting web sites must be completed by The Snider's Web or by the client and then given to The Snider's Web to upload (additional fees may apply).

We can also provide an e-mail address (such as yourname@thesnidersweb.com) for an extra fee. This allows clients without Internet access to be able to receive messages through e-mail. We would then pass on the messages by phone, fax, by mail or in person.

Flash Design/ Database Development/ Shopping Cart Applications

The Snider's Web can add many different components to a web site, including flash design, a database and an e-commerce component. We either institute this ourselves or we partner with companies that specialize in these areas.

• Every project is unique, any prices listed here have been provided to give you a general overview of our rates and conditions. We would be happy to provide you with a more accurate quote for your particular situation.

• We accept cash, cheques and VISA .
• For web design services, we require a 50% deposit with the final 50% being due at the completion of the project (on final invoice). Other web services may require up front payment, please inquire for details.
